Connect your Head back to your Body!
The body of Christ is a Christian metaphor for those who believe in Christ. The body has no intelligence, identity or power without being connected to the head, Christ. Similarly you can say that our bodies need to be connected to our heads. Obviously they are already physically connected (some may believe we are all connected to Christ already) but there is a conscious relationship of consent that needs to develop. The nature of the head is to be conscious, to perceive and to think, to regulate and to direct the body.
Your head drags your body out of bed in the morning and drags it through a routine at the gym. Your head helps you endue an ice bath and a difficult conversation. But is there more to the head than this?
The thinking brain is very powerful. It is able to instruct the coordination and natural, energetic integration of the body. The art of conscious direction of the body is a frontier that beckons us.
Through the conscious direction of the body the Self will experience wellness, healing and strength. The body is designed to be well and it can be so when directed by the head.
You may say that sounds precarious. What if my head is a headmaster and a stern autocrat that punishes my body. Or what if my head is unstructured and all over the place will this not cause the body to be that too? Yes, these are the obstacles we will traverse when we begin to understand the wonder of direction.
If the head is going to lead it needs to understand what direction-by-thought is. There is a natural intention in our physical organism toward integration and natural flourishing of the body affecting the natural flourishing of the Self. It is our conscious cognition that can return us to this ease.
The head needs to know as Christ knew that the work is finished. By this I mean that there is no effort or work to be done in order to come back into this natural state this place of ease. Only conscious consent is require.
Direction by thought.
This is the practice.
The head needs to consent through conscious thought the natural directions of the body. Forward and up. When in a moment of peace, a moment of testing, a moment of activity the body needs to be allowed through conscious direction to move and live as it has naturally been designed to be.
