Leán is a teacher specialising in embodiment, consciousness and the interplay between habitual experience and reasonability. She completed a three year training program in Cape Town under Walter Vaughn Jones to become a qualified Alexander Technique teacher.

An insightful thinker by nature with a rich grounding in religious thought Leán remains captivated by the influential role that the experiencing body has on our processes of conceptualisation. Leán holds a M.Phil from the University of Johannesburg, in which she explores the relationship between instinct, emotion and the body and reason.

Leán is furthering her studies in the philosophy of neuroscience, investigating the interdependency of materialism and dualism, exploring how this impacts on broader social dynamics.

Leán has taught somatic principles for over a decade and lives equally for herself and others, with curiosity—truthfully and courageously. Leán values the skill and ability to release and redirect unnecessary tension in thought and action to develop a more vivd way of living life.

As the founder of Human Reaction, a company aimed at elevating the somatic intelligence of the world, Leán offers group immersions and ongoing individual coaching. Leán is in the process of writing her first book, titled “Equilibrium: The Material Morality—A beginners guide to themselves.”

A mother to a nine-year-old, she understands the demands of real life and is committed to sharing a skill that not only provides grounding in difficult times but also enhances joy when life is good, nurturing a more alive collective.
